Red red red

I haven't scrapped much this month. The Lipstick scrapbooking retreat is having monthly challenges on UKscrappers. I of course left it until the last day to do something on the subject of your favourite cosmetic. I chose red nail varnish and used one of my May Scrap-room kits. thanks again Lorraine for the use of your fun serif to cut the chipboard.

Stalking that postie

I entered a number of competitions and participated in several websites' National Scrapbooking Day celebrations. Yesterday I visited http://garanceblog.canalblog.com/ to find out I was a winner of some Rouge de garance stuff for this layout I posted for one of their challenges. It was a layout I created for a challenge set by Shimelle as part of the ukscrappers cybercrop earlier last month.

My prize from Mangobeads also arrived today.

Amazing

Not a big thing but on Tuesday I managed to start and finish a layout, including journalling in one sitting. And here it is.

I'll say au revoir until next Thursday when I may have a few Paris photos to scrap at Maureen & Beverley's crop at Georgetown Methodist Church.

Boomerang finished

Yes, the layout I started about a month ago is finished. I added some clear Foofala buttons to the flowers having stamped with a flourish on the reverse with Stazon and threaded through some tiny pink ric rac. This was a class from designcollective.com

Another sketch from nycscraps, which we did for the Scrapsupply challenges. This was stitching. I loved the effect of the stitching on Joanne's Jersey Jam layout and had a go myself. It didn't take too long to do.

I'm putting away my scrapping stuff this morning and doing some patchwork. I think this evening I'll break out my albums to put away some of the layouts I've done this month.

Texture plates

One of the challenges at Scrapsupply today has made us break out the new ellison texture plates. They are fab. I used the dotty floral on the pink. I chickened out of using the metallic rubons though as it was such a large piece.

Still cropping

After the National Scrapbooking crop yesterday, we are following the Scrapsupply.com NSD online crop - there are some great prizes to win including a Bind It All.
Apologies to Veronica who couldn't get into the hall yesterday as the doors were all locked, which we didn't realise until Judy left and we'd also closed the internal door so keep the cat out. Next date, subject to booking the hall is 9th June.
Here is my layout for the 5 patterned papers challenge from five manufacturers, using sketch #13 from NYCscraps April / May class.

Cybercrop Friday

Well I managed one of the classes last night and completed another of the Friday classes this morning. I found a layout yesterday which required photos and i managed to tweak it to fit one of the challenges. Off to the book sale in half an hour.

Still tidying

It's sunny but cool today. Nick hasn't yet left for work but I've been to the Post Office and returned some dies to Lorraine. A good start to the day.

I still need to unpack my bags from last weekend's crop. Here are two layouts I did at the crop. The first I added a title to yesterday (thanks Lorraine for your fun serif) and the playing cards (thanks Jenny). I'm loving the lowercase fun serif as much as the uppercase.

This layout was completed on Saturday, but the chipboard letters had come off. SO much for being self adhesive.

I think I've done a layout with all four Scrap Room kits this month, so will enter the "Get more pages done" challenge and unpack my bag from the crop.

Don't forget it's cybercrop weekend. I think I feel a trip to M&S coming on tomorrow.

A load of bullocks

I've called this layout (nycscraps sketch #6) boy meets cow, but of course I don't know my cow from my bullocks and they aren't cows. Never mind.
I keep looking at the Scrap Camp website for the confirmed details for October to be put up. It seems like the same message has been there for two months, so I'm not sure what their definition of "soon" is. I'd really like to get it booked and also the flights booked whilst they're still a good price.

Cool day

Perfect for staying in and crafting. I've done this La Baule layout from scratch today. The photos were all taken by Matthew and came out beautifully for a £10 camera including film and batteries. This is sketch #8 from nycscraps.
I've been having a look at Club Scrap http://www.clubscrap.com/pgdrv1.cfm?c=content/aline which we used to subscribe to. They have now started a process they call Assembly Line Scrapbooking (ie making pages without photos to use the whole kit). I'm thinking of trying something similar with my next Scrap Room kits to get value for money from them. We'll see how that develops once the next month's kits are available for viewing.

Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious

sketch #7 from nycscraps. I know I've missed a few of the sketches, but one I haven't done and the others need to be photographed. Looking forward to the Mad Hatters cybercrop at http://www.ukscrappers.co.uk/boards/forumdisplay.php?f=281 this weekend and I need to get some part finished layouts completed before the fun starts.

Lovely day

We had a lovely time cropping today and as we were well behaved, Elaine the caretaker is allowing us to use the hall for our National Scrapbooking Day crop when she is away. So put it in your diaries - Saturday 5th May at Eastern Good Companions Club from 10am. Christine came and made some cards today and thoroughly enjoyed herself. If you have friends who are cardmakers, they are always welcome to join us for the day.

Photos of completed layouts tomorrow.

A lovely evening

Yesterday evening was almost perfect. We went out for dinner with my whole family to Waves so I didn't have to cook and then I joined the Scrapbooking group at Georgetwon Methodist Church and scrapped until 10pm. We were made very welcome and it is a lovely venue as they used the lobby of the church which looks through glass doors into the church. I hope that our hosts Beverley and Maureen will join us at a future crop. Thanks to Maureen and Beverley for a lovely evening.

I used a Scraproom kit from April to complete this Easter layout using nycscraps April sketch #2

I started two double layouts at the crop last night, one just needs dymo journalling. So I hope to finish them and a few more over the weekend at our crop tomorrow. See you at 10am.

Happy birthday

I finished this Design Collective layout yesterday and apart from the wobbly sewing lines I'm pleased with it. Today after quilting I'll work on NYCscraps sketch #2 which I started at Lorraine's card class last night. Now where did I put the photo I printed out?

Tomorrow night is scrapbooking at Georgetown Methodist Church Hall from 8pm or is it 7.30 pm.

An album completely finished

I finished the Disneyland Paris album in it's entirety. I've covered the outside of the album, done the journalling, written on all the blank tags. Yeah, It's ready to put on display.

My Scrap Room kit did arrive yesterday, so I've made a start on the Design Collective page using the green scalloped paper using a photo from 2003. I tried doing it last night at quilting as the page includes some sewing but everyone wanted to look at the photo. I'll take it to Card class tonight as well.

Now waiting impatiently

as the postman has been and no Scrap Room kit, but he had a kit for Lorraine. I'm not convinced that patience is a virtue!!

Here is a photo of the altered LOVE letters I made for Claire's birthday which I will give her tonight. I added burgundy ribbon to the L and V after I took the photo.

I have also done sketch #4 of the NYCscraps class. I meant to use the pink flowered side of the double sided Scenic Route paper, but I stuck the wrong side down and decided to go with it!!

Something that did arrive in the post was the American Crafts album to finish off the Disneyland Paris album I did at Scrap fever, so that is what I'm hoping to achieve today.

Waiting patiently

I'm waiting for my scrap room kit to arrive as I have earmaked two for current projects:
* One of this week's Design Collective projects uses the green scalloped paper from the Karen Russell kit; and
* I fancied doing an Easter layout with the Heidi Grace kit and nycscraps April sketch #2
Hopefully it'll arrive on Monday. Elizabeth is impatiently waiting for a bear someone from UKScrappers has tracked down for her and posted yesterday. Getting her off to school on Monday could be fun.

My car is being picked up by Jacksons on Monday so I'll have plenty of time to scrap if my kit arrives. The electrics have gone after the battery packed up and the onboard electrical system won't speak to the diagnostics machine. So apart from internal lights and not being able to lock the car, filling up with petrol meant breaking out the handbook to see how to manually release the filler cap. We made a very funny sight at the garage.

Celebrating Central Park's last evening last year. Photos didn't come out brilliantly but they tell the tale. Nycscraps sketch #3 and Scrap Room March kit from Polar Bear Express.

If anyone wants and different Autumn Leaves stamps let me know and I'll place another order.

Back from Scrap Fever

I'm back at last. I missed my computer. I tried logging in from the hotel room but some of the keys didn't work so I had to abandon that idea. Had a great time at Scrap Fever in Watford. It went really well and no major complaints. there's always some improvements that can be made (lighting in crop room) but pretty good. All five classes were good. I will bring my two albums with me to club tomorrow evening, but for now, here's my version on Venessa's class.

I so enjoyed the March 1 in 48 class at http://www.nycscraps.com/ that I decided to subscribe for the April class too, so here's my version of sketch #1 Using more Basic Grey Blitzen. I don't have much of this pack left apart from the letters and takeaway box which is very satisfying.

I also used my new Heidi Swapp stamps for this layout and my new SEI pearl brads guy and the Autumn Leaves Christmas seals. Lorraine tells me she's already used the journalling block stamps too.

I had a panic this afternoon, which Lorraine arrived in the middle of, I couldn't find my Quickutz bag. I wouldn't like to have to admit to Nick what the value of the contents is!! But I remembered when I'd last had it so I know who has the bag which is a huge relief. It also forced me to use my Craft Robo to cut the lettering for my layout.

Almost packed

This sketch #12. I doubt if I'll get today's done before we leave tomorrow morning. But I'll try. I'm not helped in that I returned all our library books yesterday and Elizabeth didn't put the CD back in the case (as asked repeatedly) so I have to go back to the library today. Also waiting on my Pampered Chef delivery from the Chocoholics Show. Perhaps I won't make the Ernst & Young alumni do at Bohemia this evening.

Only one layout so far this week as I've been altering some letters for Claire's birthday which have turned out nice (photo after Easter) and finishing off my felted bags. I'll say good bye and Happy Easter.

Marvellous Monday

These two photographs that Matthew's year 4 teacher gave me a couple of years ago were perfect for sketch #11. Some stickers for embellishments and I used some more of the Karen Foster screwhead brads which I think are great for boy pages. More chipboard in fun serif.

A sketch#6 which I missed. I used some tags received in a swap as embellishments.

I have printed off most of my photos for the classes this weekend. Just a couple missing which I hope I will find in my cupboard over the next few days. If I don't I'm sure I won't finish the layouts and albums over the weekend in any case so they can wait until I get back. I just need to get my tool bag ready and there is a long list of stuff to take. But I need to leave plenty of room for the return journey!!
